TikTok You FAQ
TikTok You FAQ answers cover ads, permissions, install limits, and the files this site actually offers.
Does TikTok You need root?
No. It installs as a normal APK. You allow the source app to install unknown apps, then open the file. The install guide has the path.
Can I keep the Play Store app installed beside TikTok You?
No. Both use the package name com.zhiliaoapp.musically. Android keeps one app per package name. See why TikTok You replaces the TikTok app.
Will a 32-bit phone install the file?
No. The files on this site include arm64-v8a libraries only. A phone without 64-bit support cannot install them.
Does the feed include ads?
The feed settings include a switch that hides ads. That switch is how the project offers a cleaner feed. This site has not counted ads in a viewing session. The manifest does not declare an advertising-ID permission. The rows are shown in TikTok You feed settings.
Does TikTok You ask for my location?
The current file's manifest does not list fine or coarse location. It does list camera, microphone, media, contacts, notifications, network access, and Play billing. Those requests are explained in TikTok You permissions.
Will purchases inside the app still appear?
They can. The package declares Play billing, and the download on this site has no price. A free APK is not the same thing as a client with purchases removed.
Can I turn region switching off?
An earlier project note says region switching can no longer be turned off. The notes for the files on this site do not reverse that line. How the control works is in change region in TikTok You.
Does this site list older builds?
It lists the current file and the previous file, each with its own notes, on the download page. Older labels from the project history are not offered here.
Where are the APK files hosted?
The buttons on the download page point at files on apkdownloading.com. This website does not attach the APKs to the pages themselves.
Which Android version does the current file need?
TikTok You 5.0 needs Android 6.0 or later.
Is there a TikTok You build for PC or Android TV?
No. This site only publishes the Android APK. There is no Windows, Mac, or TV file here.
What happens to my account if I uninstall the store app first?
Uninstalling removes the app's local data on the phone. An account that lives on a server is separate from that local data. Drafts and files that exist only on the phone do not survive the uninstall. This site does not promise that a login will restore them.
